White water rafting trip on the Ganges

Hi All,

We are planning for an office trip one night and two days for rafting on the Ganga…near rishikesh somewhere…

Can someone please let me know how safe is rafting, I and some friends don’t know swimming, can we go there, also are kids allowed (How much aid), are there toilets there, what other activities can be organised…and also where can I make the bookings…?

I know lots of questions,but I have more coming on my mind

  Hi Prerna,

  Rafting is a super cool option, I really loved the thrill of crossing the rapids on raft.

  Now a days camps and providers have come up in hundreds wherein there are numerous options to choose from. Also there are several beaches where the camps have come up..

  Some of the camps do have wet pit flush toilet, depends on how much adventure you are willing to take.

  Can someone please let me know how safe is rafting,
  Varun: Very Safe I have done it 8 times and have done it with 7-8 year kids and also with olderlies. However for very small kids or oldies you can ask them to aboard on Bhrampuri (After this only the very small rapids remain)

  Varun: You don’t need to know swimming, the life jacket does a very good job. Dont be scared to do body surfing with the life jacket on, its very safe.

  can we go there, also are kids allowed (How much age)
  Varun: Kids above 10 years are allowed on the Shivpuri to Ram Jhula Stretch, others you can get aboard from Bhrampuri to Ram Jhula
